5 Most Romantic Cities In Canada
Tofino, British Columbia
Tofino is a perfect romantic getaway for the nature-loving couple who still wants a bit of adventure while on vacation. Oh, and the mountain views don’t hurt either.
Kingston, Ontario
Fogo Island, Newfoundland
Do you know how you sometimes just want to get as far away as possible from your responsibilities? One place you can do this is Fogo Island. Literally, it's one of the four "corners" of the world! Although the island's population is small, the beauty is larger than life, with only about 2,500 people.
Quebec City, Quebec
There are also a few more hidden romantic options, such as attending one of Quebec's churches at a bell-ringing ceremony, or heading to Île d'Orléans where you'll find beautiful farms and vineyards.
Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
Yellowknife isn't often a place where people think about travelling, but the trip is definitely worthwhile. Yellowknife, the only official city located in the Northwest Territories, thanks to its three diamond mines, is sometimes referred to as the "Diamond Capital of North America." And is there, really, anything more romantic than diamonds?
Located approximately 3,000 km south of the North Pole, Yellowknife offers visitors a perfect opportunity to experience the aurora borealis from November to April. Or just enjoy the phenomenon from wherever you happen to be, you can book an official viewing spot. Experiencing one of the most beautiful sights in the world with the person you love is something absolutely magical, and you can do that in Yellowknife.
You can also do something a little more adventurous if you're up for it, like going dog sledding through the snow (with the help of a guide of course). You could also make your way to Dettah Ice Road, a 6.5 km ice road that connects Dettah to Yellowknife. Tourists love to take pictures of the frozen river, which in the winter is converted into a road. It's also another great place to enjoy the aurora borealis from within your own vehicle's comforts.
So you've got it there. You can visit five romantic spots in Canada with your special person once the country opens up again. Until then, we recommend that you celebrate Valentine's Day at home and dream about all your holidays in the future!
